RACHEL CLIFTON

Mrs. Rachel Clifton, of Carroll County, mother of Rev. BF Clifton the Methodist preacher now in Jeffersonville for the theft of an automobile, was killed a few days ago by a fall from a cherry tree. She was sitting on a limb, 12' from the ground in high spirits singing, "When the Roll is Called up Yonder I'll be There," little dreaming that the call for her was to come so soon. She died in a half hour after the fall. Her husband died while their son was on trial here last December - Covington Republican.
