Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal; July 23, 1915 Transcribed by Cathy Clouse Armstrong

Linden, July 23 - Yesterday evening at eight at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Foster, three and a half miles south of this place, occurred the death of Richard Clouse, sixty-five years old, who was never married. He had been an invalid for the past three years. His death was due to a complication of diseases of which dropsy was the worst. Mr. Clouse was born near the place where he died. He was a farmer until his health became such that he could not work any longer. He resided in the same neighborhood all his life. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias orders. He is survived by an only sister, Mrs. Foster, at whose home he passed away, and by five nieces and one nephew. The funeral will occur Saturday afternoon at two with interment at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, south of here. - kbz
