New Richmond - Roscoe Cochran, 77, a retired carpenter, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday after suffering an apparent attack on a neighbor's porch near his home in New Richmond. Mr. Cochran attended the Methodist Church in New Richmond. He attended South Raub School in Tippecanoe County. He was born Oct. 23, 1893, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to William Henry and Mary Cochran. Mr. Cochran lived in New Richmond most of his life. He married Letha F. Coffman on Nov. 4, 1914. She died Aug. 27, 1960. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Sexton of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Judy Hamilton of Lafayette and Mrs. Marilyn Snelling of Birmingham, Mich.; four sons, Dale of New Market, David of Crawfordsville, Maurice of Charlestown and Richard of Darlington; a sister, Mrs. Dora Geiger of New Richmond; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Helms Funeral Home, Linden. Rev. Dale Seslar will officiate. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
