NEW RICHMOND--W. Maurice Coffman, 78, died suddenly, apparently of a heart attack, Tuesday afternoon at his home here. He was an electrician and mechanic and had operated a garage in New Richmond for 35 years. Born April 8, 1892, he was a son of William P. and Elizabeth Eshlman Coffman. He was married April 10, 1910, to Ruth Seaman. A resident of New Richmond all of his life, he was a member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge of which he was a past master. He received a 50-year membership pin from the Order of Eastern Star last weekend. Mr. Coffman played in the old Newtown band for many years and had served as director of the 151st Infantry National Guard band. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mae Cox of Richmond, Ky. He was preceded in death by his wife, four children, a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Helm's Funeral Home at Linden with Rev. Dale M. Seslar officiating. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. - kbz

NEW RICHMOND--Maurice Coffman, about 78, was found dead at his home here Tuesday afternoon. Coroner Russell Powers said death was due to a heart attack. The body was taken to the Helms Funeral Home in Linden, where funeral arrangements are incomplete.

New Richmond - W. Maurice Coffman, 78, life resident here, died about 2 p.m. Tuesday in his home. An electrician and mechanic, he operated a garage here 35 years. Mr. Coffman received his 50-year pin from the Order of Eastern Star Saturday night and was a member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge of which he was a past master. He was a volunteer fireman many years, had played in the Newtown band and was director of the 151st Infantry National Guard Band. He was married in 1910 to Ruth Seaman. She died in 1961. Mr. Coffman is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mae H. Cox of Richmond, Ky. - - Coffman, W. Maurice - Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Helms Funeral Home, Linden. Masonic rites 8 p.m. Thursday.
