Forrest M. Coleman, 92, Greencastle, formerly of Waveland, died 10 p.m. Tuesday in his residence. Mr. Coleman was a grocer for 45 years working at Portland Mills, Byron, and from1947-78 owned and operated Coleman Grocery & Locker, Waveland. His memberships included Waveland Covenant United Methodist Church, 50 year member of Waveland Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. 300, Waveland Order of Eastern Star 539, past member of Waveland Fire Department, Rite Indianapolis, served as director of Little Raccoon Conservancy Scottish District and was an honorary member of the Waveland High School Alumni Association. He was born June 29, 1913, at Judson, to Ray and Myrtle Akers Coleman. He graduated from Greene Township High School. On May 26, 1934, he married Ruth Elizabeth Spencer at Watseka, Ill. She died Aug. 29, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Hastey, Scottsbluff, Neb., Linda Johnston, Northbrook, Ill.; one brother, Kenneth W. Coleman, Waveland; one sister, Pauline Baird, Roachdale; four grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. His brother, James Coleman, is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Friday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, with Rev. Lester Niles. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. today in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Waveland Covenant United Methodist Church c/o Sylvia Greene, 8655 E.
