Mrs. Laura Combs, 84, of 208 Jennison St., died at 4:35 a.m. Friday in Culver Hospital. Mrs. Combs was a member of the Church of Christ here and had been employed at Service Laundry, the glove factory and the garment factory. She was a native of Hardin County, Kentucky, born June 14, 1884. She married Kendrick Combs in 1911 in Kentucky. Surviving are two sons, Carl and Carman, both of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Naomi) Ellis of Bradenton Beach, Fla.; a stepson, Courtney Combs of Detroit; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Eva Hemeryck of Detroit; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Peck officiating. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
