John Dayton Condit, who died Saturday in Chicago was formerly a resident of this city for many years, and the body will be brought here for burial. He was 75 years of age, and a son of Daniel Dayton Condit, who came to Indiana at a very early day form New Jersey, making the trip from Cincinnati to Vincennes by boat. The family moved to Terre Haute in 1831, where the father and son were associated in the general merchandise business. His mother was half sister f Judge Blackford of the Indiana Supreme Court. The Rev. Blackford Condit of Terre Haute is a younger brother. At the time of his death he lived with his sister, Mrs. Mary Kirk. - kbz
