Harry M. Connard, the day clerk at the Ramsey Hotel, died last Friday at ten minutes after 1 o’clock, of erysipelas, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Connard, of Wabash Street. Harry was taken sick some days ago and continued to grow steadily worse until the end. While he was regarded as dangerously sick almost from the first, faith in his recovery was not abandoned until last Thursday night.  Harry M. Connard was born here Sept. 11, 1863, and lived here practically all his life. He attended school here and after his graduation he entered the railway mail service. For five years he served on the C & E I, but was obliged to retire finally because of railway paralysis. He returned to Crawfordsville then and upon the death of Hop Comer, became clerk of the Robbins House, going with Mr. Jones to the Ramsey when it was opened. He was a bright and cheerful man and was popular with all who knew him and especially with the traveling public. Kind and obliging, he had made many warm friends and all will regret to learn of his untimely death. The funeral occurred last Sunday afternoon. -s
