New Richmond - Lowell Alexander Cook, 60, died at 9 p.m. Friday at his home two miles southeast of New Richmond after a long illness. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Cook was born at Elwood May 16, 1900, a son of Thomas and Madeline Alexander Cook. He was married in Crawfordsville Oct. 12, 1921 to Mary Line, who survives. He retired 10 years ago after having farmed for 39 years at the present home. He was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Surviving besides the widow are 11 children - a son, Harold of Dallas, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Pierce of Waynetown, Mrs. Frances Purdue of Brownsburg, Mrs. Shirley Pryor of Ocean City, N.J., and Mrs. Sarah Suiters of Lafayette; and James, Phillip, Mike, Kathleen, Sue and Jennifer, all at home. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Arthur Marr of Cambridge, Ohio; a brother, Paul Cook of Portland, Ore., and 12 grandchildren. A son, Thomas, died of injuries in an auto accident in 1950. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, where the services will be held. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery.

Funeral services for Lowell A. Cook were conducted Monday at Bright Funeral Home by Rev. John H. Cachiaras and Rev. Harold L. Clark, both of New Richmond. Mrs. Robert Shular sang, accompanied by Curtis E. Bright on the organ. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the flowers were Edward Saylor, John Meek and Robert Warren of Crawfordsville, and Richard Stephenson, Byron Alexander and Claude Martin of New Richmond. Burial was on the family plot in New Richmond Cemetery. Mr. Cook, a farmer in the New Richmond area for 39 years, died unexpectedly at his home Friday night.
