Mrs. Barbara Cooksey, 41, who has a number of relatives here, died Wednesday morning at Methodist Hospital in Louisville. She lived at 225 E. Riverside Dr., Jeffersonville, Ind. Born March 4, 1923, near Browns Valley, she was the daughter of John T. and Monna Porter Rusk. She was married to Winfred Cooksey, who survives. Mrs. Cooksey owned and operated the Riverview Beauty Salon at Jeffersonville. She belonged to the First Christian Church there. She had lived in this county until moving to Jeffersonville seven years ago. Other survivors include the mother, Mrs. Harden Tincher of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Taylor and Miss Nikki Pruett, both of Jeffersonville; a son, Larry Pruett, who is in the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; three step-children, Mrs. Carolyn Hatt of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Betty Muston of Crawfordsville and Wiinfred Lee Cooksey of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Frances Fisher of Jeffersonville; two brothers, Harold Rusk of Roachdale and William Rusk of Crawfordsville; and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bright Funeral Home here, with burial in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Friday.
