Mrs. Essie K. Coons, 80, died Saturday evening in the Bowles Convalescent Home where she had been a patient about seven months.
She was the widow of Frank Coons, who died about 45 years ago.
Mrs. Coons, a life-long resident of this city and was employed at Culver Hospital for more than 30 years in the kitchen and sewing room. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Adams, Mrs. Marie Addler, and Mrs. Frances Morris . She was I preceded in death by a sister, Mattie Grimes, who died in 1938.
Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bright Funeral Home here. Rev. O.K. Malone will be in charge. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may all at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Monday.
