Flossie F. Coons, 83, of Rt. 7, died at her residence Thursday evening.

Mrs. Coons was a member of First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville and a member of many church organizations. She was a graduate of New Market High School.

Born Nov. 16, 1893 in Fountain County, she was a daughter of James and Hattie Bowman Parks. She married Elmer T. Coons on Dec. 24, 1911. He died in 1971.

Surviving are two daughters, Paul (Louise) Hays and Mrs. Dee (Loraine) Burns; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Lois Johnson, and two grand-daughters are deceased.

Services are scheduled at 2p.m. Monday in Powers Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with the Rev. James Ranard officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordsville Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
