New Market - Frank J. Coons, 88, a retired farmer, died of pneumonia at 3:30 o'clock Saturday morning at Culver hospital in Crawfordsville. He had ill for 10 days. Born Sept. 20, 1862 near New Market, Mr. Coons was the son of John K., and Elizabeth VanCleave Coons. He married Nancy Ellen Wray, who died July 2, 1948. He was a member of the New Market Christian church and K of P. Surviving are two granddaughters, Mrs. Edward Cox, of Carmel, and Mrs. Harold Haffner of Shannondale; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Allen, and Mrs. Belle Burgess, both of New Market., and a half-sister, Miss Myrtle Coons, of South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the New Market Christian church with burial at the Masonic cemetery in Crawfordsville. Friends may pay their respects at the Noble Reeves Funeral home.
