Jamestown - John Henry Coons, 59, a native of Boone County, died Friday morning in his home at Advance. He had been in failing health for nine years.
Born August 26, 1897, Mr. Coons was the son of Wallace and Addie Airhart Coons. He married Frances Sperry at Danville, Ill., in 1935. He was a member of the Advance Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Batts of near Jamestown, and Miss Carolyn Coons at home, and a brother, Guy Coons of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the North Christian Church at Advance. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home after noon Saturday.
