Sarah C. Coons, a life long resident of Montgomery county, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joe Layson, Friday evening at 7:40 o'clock following an illness of thirteen weeks. Death was due to complications.
Mrs. Coons was born near Crawfordsville March 3, 1855, the daughter of. W.J. and Jane A. Coons. She was never married and had resided with her sister for the last eleven years. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are the sister, Mrs. Joe Layson, her niece, Mildred Layson and three nephews, Everett, Wallace, and Leroy Layson, all residing in this city.
Funeral services will be held from the Layson home, 407 Russell avenue, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. J.H. ____, pastor of the Christian Church, will have charge of the services. Interment will be made at the Masonic cemetery.
