Waynetown, Aug 31 - Mrs. Amanda Combs, resident of Waynetown many years died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville Wednesday night at 11:45 o'clock.  Se had been taken to the hospital Sunday. Her death  followed an illness of two years and was caused by a stroke of paralysis.  She was born Oct 14, 1871 in Clay County, Ind, the daughter of John L. and Martha Garney Johnson, and moved to Montgomery County during her girlhood.  She was married Nov 12, 1897 in a log cabin near Elmdale, her home, to WIlliam L. Combs. Following their marriage they lived in Waynetown.  Mrs. Combs was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Order of Eastern Star at Waynetown. She is survived by her husband; onje son, Layton Combs of Norwalk, Conn; three daughters, Mrs. Erme Buttemore of Kingman, Kans; Mrs. Inez Pennybacker of Westport, Conn and Miss Enid Combs of Alto, Mich; a sister, Mrs. Etta Garrigus of Veedersburg and five grandchildren. The three daughters were at the mother's beside when she died and the sons arrived home this morning. The body was taken to the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home here where friends may call until 5:30 p.m. Friday at which time it will be taken to the family home. The funeral will be held fro the Waynetown Baptist Church at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning in charge of Rev. Gary Albritten. BUrial will be made in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
