Darlington – Abraham Lincoln Cook 74, retired farmer second cousin of the Civil War president after whom he was named, died Saturday evening at his home in Crawfordsville after having been in failing health for several months.  Mr. Cook was born near Darlington June 12, 1860, a son of George W. and Lucy Ann (Winters) Cook, and was married in 1882 to Hannah A. Applegate who died in 1899.  Two daughters survive, Mrs. Laura H. Butcher, San Francisco and Mrs. Cergie E. Blanton, Oaklandon, Ind. Two sons died in WW service. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at the Proffitt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville with interment in Rice Cemetery north of Darlington. - kz
