Waynetown, May 2- A.L. Coons, for many years a prominent citizen of this place, died Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock. His taking wa sthe result of a general breakdown as he has been in declining health for several years. Deceased was born five miles southwest of Crawfordsville November 28, 1844, the son of John R & Nancy Thompson Coons. He grew to young manhood in Crawfordsville, where he learned the tinner's trade. About 45 years ago he moved to this place where he has continued to reside since being first employed by the well known hardware firm of Rider & Brant and later engaging for himself in the hardware business and later still in the grocery business. Deceased was thrice married, his first wife being Maria Traine who lived but a short time. He was then married to Samantha Sloan. To this union, one daughter was born, Miss Grace, who died when a young lady. In 1898 deceased was united in marriage iwth Minerva Musser, by whom he is survived.  Deceased was a member of the Christian Church and K of P Lodge.  He was a soldier of the Civil War, being a member of the 35th regiment Vol. Inf. He was a man respected by all who knew him and a good citizen. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home. BUrial will be at the Waynetown cemetery - kbz
