JOHN W. CORBIN

John W. Corbin, 78, for many years engaged in the candy business as a member of the firm of Sering and Corbin and more recently a city employee, died at the Westbrook Nursing Home here at 8:45 a.m. Monday. Born in Homer Minn. September 18, 1890. Mr. Corbin would have observed his 77th birthday a week from this Wednesday. He had been in falling health for the past two years.

Mr. Corbin was the son of Smith H. Corbin and Mary E. Martin Corbin. He was married April 26, 1906 to Anna L. Woerner, in Crawfordsville. Mrs. Corbin died last February 14.

Mr. Corbin was member of the First Christian Church and of the Eagles Lodge in Crawfordsville one brother Martin Corbin also of Crawfordsville, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Also preceding him in death in addition to Mrs. Corbin, were his parents and one son Woerner Corbin, one brother, Ray Corbin and one sister, Mrs. Maude Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl F. Connett of Indianapolis, as the officiating minister. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.  -- typed by kbz
