Mrs. Martha Corns, aged 83 died at the family home in this city this morning at 6:30 after an illness of 16 weeks from a complication of diseases due to the infirmities of old age. The past few weeks of her illness has been serious and the family had all been summoned to her bedside, knowing that the Dark messenger was constantly hovering near the announcement that death had come and that she had come and that she had "crossed the bar" into God's beautiful land, peacefully to sleep in eternal rest, come as a shock to each heart. The husband, Joseph Corns, preceded her in death several years ago. The following children are left to mourn the mother: Misses Clara and Pearl Corns at home; Ivan Corns and Mrs. Charles Campbell of Oklahoma, Mrs. Earl Cox of this city and Mrs. Ina Hunt of Monon. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by her pastor, Rev. Nicely.  -- typed by kbz
