Russellville - Emery Franklin Cooper, 76, prominent in Putnam County politics and a member of the Republican party, died at his home here Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.  He had been in failing health for four years. Mr. Cooper served several terms as County Assessor and was also trustee. Born in Indiana on May 28, 1877, he was the son of Carey and Cynthia Bailey Cooper. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Eston of Roachdale, Harold of Pontiac, Mich; and Donald of Russellville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie McAllister of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Charles Cooper of Mellott and James Cooper of Hillsboro; five grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated Church in Russellville with Rev. IL Pickett officiatnig. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  The body will be taken to the church one hour before the services. Friends may call at the family residence in Russellville after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
