Mrs. Nancy A. COOPER, one of the old and repected residents of Wayne Township died at her home two miles west of Waynetown Saturday afternoon at one. Mrs. Cooper was 84 years old and was the widow of Lemuel Cooper and one of the pioneer women of Indiana. She was the daughter of Daniel and Barbara Bever and was born in Fountain County Sept 9, 1831. Mrs. Cooper had been ill a long time from complications of old age but Brights Disease [chronic or acute Nephritis] was the immediate cause of death. This is the 3rd death that has occurred in the Cooper family during the last two months. On Dec 2, a daughter Mrs. Newkirk died of milk sickness and Jan 5 a grandson Halcey Newkirk succumbed to the same disease. Mrs. Cooper is survived by three brothers, Stephen, George and Orlando all of Missouri and a granddaughter Mrs. Ross Ellis of Hillsboro. The funeral will be held from the home on Monday with Rev. TJ Lough in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown. - kbz
