GLADYS UTTERBACK CORD

Mrs. Gladys Cord, 55 of Waynetown, died at 2:39 p.m. Thursday (April 11, 1974) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where she was admitted Wednesday evening for treatment of pneumonia. She then went into a diabetic coma. Born Dec. 11, 1918 at Wabasso, MN, she was the daughter of John C. and Carrie Keys Utterback. She married May 15, 1937 to Ernest "Dick" Cord of Waynetown who survives. Mrs. Cord was bookkeeper at the Arco Distributing Co. at Crawfordsville, which her husband manages. A graduate of Waynetown High in 1936, she had lived in the Waynetown area most of her life. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, United Methodist Church and had served as Sunday School teacher many years. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Michael (Lanalou) Rose of Waynetown, Mrs Ronald (Shari) Larew of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Irvin of Churubusco three brothers, Lester of Anderson, Daniel of Crawfordsville and Charles in Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Iona Ellingson of Lucan, MN; and Mrs. Jean Richardson of Whitehall, Mich; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and an infant sister. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Services-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Hayden officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received after 3 p.m. to day at the funeral home. tch
