Darlington- Mrs. Esther Cornelius, 69, died Sunday morning in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Lafayette where she had been a patient since Oct. 20. She was born Nov. 14, 1893 at Indianapolis, daughter of Thomas P. and Amy Keller Rhoads. She married Roul E. Cornelius Nov 14, 1919. They were married at Indianapolis where they lived before moving to a farm near here in 1944. Mrs. Cornelius was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She also was a member of Book Lovers Club here and was a past president of Darlington American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include the husband; a brother, Thomas P. Rhoads Jr. of New York City; a sister, Mrs. J. Frank Peggs of Darlington; a niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at Bright Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. John C. Stacy officiating. Interment will be in Cicero near Noblesville. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. - kbz
