Guy Corwin, retired employee of the Crawfordsville Light & Power Co. died early Saturday morning at the Carmen Nursing Home. He was 77 years old. Corwin retired from the local utility in 1956 after 33 years of service. When he left the company, he was operating engineer in the power plant. Born in Marion County on March 22, 1890, he was the son of Davis and Christina Johnson Corwin. He was educated in the schools of Marion County. Corwin was married on Aug. 17, 1913 to Alma V. Hinkle who died in June of last year, The deceased arrived in the Youngs Chapel area in 1904. He subsequently moved to the Linnsburg community. Prior to his employment at the light plant, he had worked at the Indiana Girls School, and also farmed near the Whitesville community. Corwin was a member of the Woodland Heights Christian Church. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. D. C. Fraley of Gold Hill, Ore., and a nephew, Chester Corwin, of Indianapolis. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Don H. Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - typed by Chris M.
