MARY McLOED COUGER

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 1-7-1925

Mary May McLOED, youngest daughter of Oliver and Mary McLoed, was born Oct 6, 1895 at Anderson, Indiana. She passed away December 30, 1924 at Culver Union Hospital. In Mary 1904, the family moved from Anderson to the farm 4 miles SW of Crawfordsville where May lived until she was grown. She graduated from the Crawfordsville HS in 1913. She joined the Christian church in 1915. She was married to Paul COUGER March 5, 1918. They lived on the farm a short time before her husband enlisted in the Navy. When the Armistice was signed Paul returned and they again went to housekeeping on the farm, where they were very happy and devoted to each other. Mary was very fond of her home and in spite of ill health had made the home in which she and her husband were living so pleasant and attractive that it was a favorite gathering place for many friends. She often expressed a wish to be able to give more time to others, but those who knew her best admired her for the great effort she made to meet everyone with her sweet, pleasant smile. Her winning personality endeared her to all who knew her. Besides a host of friends, she leaves a loving husand, father, 3 sistesr, Charlotte and Elizabeth McLoed and Mrs. Keneim Williams and one brother, Oliver McLoed, 3 aunts, one uncle and several cousins. Our loved one's suffering has been relieved by the Father whose mercy endureth forever and we know she has gone to join her mother, who was called away when Mary was 11 years of age; but oh, how we will miss her.
