Mrs. Jessie M. COWAN oldest resident of Waveland died last week in Crawfordsville after a week’s illness. She was 96. Born Sept 24, 1863 in Waveland she was the daughter of Henry S. and Mary Bush (Brush) Kritz. She married George M. Cowan in 1887 in Waveland. Mrs. Cowan was a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church for 81 years and was active in church activities until her health failed. She was a life long resident of Waveland. Surviving are a nephew, Raymond Hunter of Indianapolis and four nieces, Miss Grace Hunter and Mrs. Taylor Groniger, both of Indianapolis. Mrs. Kathleen Patterson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Helen Isaacs of Dunedin, Florida. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. OK Malone officiating; burial in Presbyterian Cemetery, Waveland.
