ASHLEY COX

Ashley Cox, born and reared near Garfield, succumed to a heart attack early Wednesday morning at his residence at the Montgomery County farm of which he was superintendent. He was found dead in bed by his wife about 4 o'clock. It was believed he had passed away about two hours previously. He had been subject to heart attacks for several years.

Mr. Cox was a son of Abijah and Catherine Mung Cox. He would have been 69 years old in April. ALl of his early life was spent in the Garfield community. After his marriage to Catherine Endicott they engaged in farming in various locations in this part of the county.

Seven years ago he was appointed superintendent of the County Farm and served efficiently in that capacity. He had received his appointment for another term only a few days ago.

Survivors include the wife; two sons, Ashley Eugene of Crawfordsville and Leon of Lafyaette; two sisters, Mrs. Jesse Hole of Darlington and Mrs. Lena Payne of Crawfordsville and four grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at the residence at the County Farm, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. - kbz
