Word was received here yesterday of the death of JB Cox, a former resident of Crawfordsville. Mr. Cox died last Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock in Oklahoma City, Okla at the advanced age of 79 years of a complication of diseases. Mr. Cox was born in England and removed to America at an early age. During his residence here MR. Cox was proprietor of a small grocery on East Main street, near the Vandalia station. Seven years ago he removed to Indianapolis and two years ago he went to Oklahoma. With him at the time of his death were his two daughters, Misses Sallie and Mattie Cox. His other children living are Mrs. Fount Eastlack of this city; Mrs. LC Cresse, Arthur Cox, Isaac Cox and Mrs. Harry Bishop of Chicago; Edward Cox of Indianapolis and George Cox of St. Louis. His wife died 19 years ago. It was expected that the body would arrive here today and if it does the plans are to hold the funeral tomorrow morning. The interment will be at Oak Hill. - kbz
