SUSAN PETERMAN CRAFTON

Source: Waveland Independent, Thursday, March 21, 1907

Mrs. Susan Crafton, wife of Dr. O.T. Crafton died at Heckland on Wednesday March 13. The body was brought here on Friday and interred at the Presbyterian cemetery after services at the home of Robert Oldshue, conducted by Rev. Thomas G. Pearce. Mrs. Crafton was the youngest daughter of William and Rachel peterman. She was born at Carlisle, Knox County July 21, 1849. Later, the family removed to Waveland, where she became a member of the Presbyterian Church under the pastorate of Rev. Robert Irwin. She lived a consistent Christian life, although often unable to attend public worship on account of feeble health. She bore this with resignation and patience, so that even those nearest her never heard her complain. She took delight in making home, so far as was in her power, the brightest and happiest place for those she loved so dearly. A mother, brother have passed. She leaves a devoted husband, an aged father and two sisters, Mrs. John Robertson and Mrs. Robert Oldshue, to mourn her loss.  -- kbz
