Everett Crane of Wingate, a 19 year old boy, while with his father and a guide hunting on the Kankakee marshes, was accidently [sic] shot and killed Wednesday by the latter while in a boat. They saw a brace of ducks fly up and the young man being in the way stooped over, so that the guide could get a good aim. He shot, and the boy thinking he would not shoot again raised just as the second barrel was discharged. His entire head was shot to pieces. - typed by kb
