Cronin - Jack

Source: Crawfordsville Star, Thursday March 29, 1883

Poor Jack Cronin, of Ladoga, met a grim death in a horrible manner at 2 o'clock on last Friday morning. The northbound passenger train on the LNA & CRR struck his prostrate body lying on the track near the Market Street crossing and his soul was quickly wafted into eternity. Poor Jack had been in town on business and partook of the bowl that cheers but inebriates. He was 28 years of age. The Coroner's inquest relieves the railroad of all blame. -- kbz
