Waynetown- James Howard Crouse, 69 of Waynetown died at 7:55 a.m. Thursday in Culver Union Hosp. Worked as book binder for RR Donnelley for 40 years, retiring in 1988. Served in Navy from 1943-46. serving in the South Pacific. He rec'd the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, and Victory Ribbon in WWII. Charter member of Woodland Heights Christian Church. Worked earlier in life with Boy Scouts. Grad of Perrysville HS. Born Nov 20, 1925 in Perrysville, Ind to Carl & Zola Mae Smith Crouse. Married Ellen Howard; she died 1967. Remarried Evelyn Boller in Waynetown; survives. Also surviving son, James E.; two daughters, Vene Birchfield and Linda Lucas, three brothers, John; Robert and Richard sister Donna Fortner. Funeral services scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home at Wayentown with Rev. Ed Maurer officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cem. Military rites will be conducted at gravesite. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial to Hospice. - kbz
