Perrysville -- Glenn W. Crowder, 75, a Perrysville resident the last 44 years died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday in Veterans Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient since Oct 25. He had been ill the last two years. He was a son of Austin and Viola Jarrad Crowder and was born Dec. 29, 1890 in Wabash Twp, Fountain County. He was married Sept 27, 1917 to Verne Woods who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Finley and James of Perrysville; two grandchildren; a brother, Marvin of Williamsport; two half-brothers, Leroy of Rt 1, Covington and Harold of Perrysville; two half sisters, Mrs. Virgie Jackson and Mrs. Ruth Davis of Perrysville; and nieces and nephews. A brother, a sister, two half brothers and a half sister preceded him in death. Mr. Crowder, a WWI veteran with 14 months' service in Germany had been a moulder in foundries at Perrysville, Crawfordsville and Anderson. He formerly lived in Stringtown. He retired several years ago. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington where friends may call. Rev. Donald True will officiate with burial in Coal Creek Cemetery. The American Legion Post 350 will conduct graveside rites.
