Lydia M. Crowder, daughter of David and Ann Crowder, died at the home of her father 4 miles south of Darlington Sunday morning July 22. She was 27 years 2 months 16 days old, having been born in Fincastle, Botatourt County VA May 4, 1873. She leaves father, mother and four brothers, besides a large circle of friends. She joined the ME Church at Kingsley Chapel in the winter of 1888. She was a good girl, sweet in spirit, loved by all who knew her, the pride and sunshine of the home, a devoted daughter and sister, a faithful Christian, loving her Sunday school and church. The family, church and community have sustained a loss that will be heavily felt. The funeral took place Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at Kingsley Church, conducted by Rev. HC Riley and interment took place in the K of P Cemetery at Mace. - transcribed by kbz
