FREDERICK CROY

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 9 Jan 1915 p 4

Frederick Croy, 87 years old, a resident of Montgomery County for more tan half a century, died at his home on Tuttle Avenue in this city at 11:30 Friday night after an illness of about a year with the infirmities of age. Heart trouble was the direct cause of his death. His condition has been serious for several weeks. Mr. Croy was born in Indiana nearly 88 years ago. For many years he lived on a farm north of Crawfordsville and he moved to this city with his family about 15 years ago. Sampson Croy of Denver Colo, a son of the deceased, was called here before Christmas when his father's condition became serious, and he remained until a few days ago when Mr. Croy seemed to be improving. Soon after his son left his father's home, the aged man became seriously ill again and he became weaker each day until death finally ended his suffering Friday night. A message received from the son today announced that he would start at once for Crawfordsville to be present at the funeral services for his father. Mr. Croy was well known throughout Montgomery County and was a highly respected man. Until a year ago when he became ill, he had retained all his caulties to a remarkable degree and was enjoying the best of health. Funeral services will be held from the late home at 10 Tuesday morning. - kbz
