James Cuppy, a brother of Seth E. Cuppy who often visited here, died very unexpectedly at the home of his sister in southern Illinois, early on Monday morning. He was 78 years old. His wife has been dead many years. He had three daughters, two of whom are living: Mrs. Charles Knight of Terre Haute, with whom he made his home, and one living in Oklahoma. S.E. Cuppy and Rev. SK Fuson attended the funeral at the Baptist Church in Shelburn Wednesday. The body was interred in the Little Flock cemetery near that place. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Fuson, a life long friend of the deceased. Mr. Cuppy has been a member of the Baptist Church the great part of his life and of the Odd Fellows for 40 years. For some time he worked in the meat department of the Cuppy Department store here. - kbz
