Mrs. Bonnie J. Curtin, Rt. 1, third grade teacher at Nicholson Elementary School, died unexpectedly Wednesday night at Raccoon State Recreation Area, She was 40. She was born in Evansville Jan. 27, 1927, to Oscar E. and Madge Weekley. On July 17, 1950, she married Charles T. Curtin in Evansville. She was graduated from Evansville Central High School and from Indiana State College in 1949. She had received her master's degree this month from Indiana State University. She previously had taught at Alamo and was a member of the Indiana Classroom Teachers Association. She also had taught home-bound students here. Mrs. Curtin also was a past president of the Auxiliary Unit of the Byron Cox Post of the American Legion. Survivors include the husband, personnel manager at Mid-States Steel & Wire Co.; a daughter, Cheryl Ann, and a son, Charles Edward, both at home; the mother; a sister, Mrs. Clip Salyer of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Oscar Weekley of Detroit, and a half-brother, Willard Kerchief of Evansville. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating. Rosary services will be Friday at 8 p.m. at the Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie J. Curtin were held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Saturday morning with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward celebrant of the mass. Pallbearers were Donald G. Kellerman, Lawrence J. Devitt, Peter J. Schreiner, John C. Harper, all of Crawfordsville, Paul Budreau of Hammond and Claude Cord of Waynetown. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary service was recited Friday night at the Bright Funeral Home led by Msgr. Ward. Mrs. Curtin, a third grade teacher at Nicholson School, died suddenly at Raccoon State Park Aug. 23.
