Newkirk - Mrs. William (Ella)

Mrs. Isaac Cox received a telegram from Clinton last Wednesday saying
that her sister, Mrs. William Newkirk was seriously ill. She was not
able on account of our poor train service to get to Clinton until the
next day when she found that her sister was already dead. Mr. Newkirk
was also seriously ill and died on Monday and a 15 year old daughter is
also critically ill. Mr. Cox went to Clinton Tuesday. Mr. Newkirk was
coal inspector for 3 mines near Clinton.
