Merle Garrett Neese, 68, of Rt. 3, Crawfordsville died Sunday morning at culver Hospital after an illness of several months. He had been superintendent of the Truck Maintenance Department of the City of Indianapolis until his retiremen tin May 1966. Prior to that, Mr. Neese had lived in California for 15 years after operating a sporting goods store in Indianapolis a number o f years. He was born Feb 2, 1898 in Zionsville. He was married to Ruby Woodruff Jones in 1918. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Worsham of Torrance, Calif and a stepson, John D. Jones of near Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph M. Jones officiating. Burial in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
