Mellott, Oct 19 - William Nesbitt, 48 years old, prominent Fountain County farmer ended his life this morning about 6:30 o'clock when he fired a bullet into his body from a .22 caliber rifle. The tragedy occurred at the Nesbitt home, 3 miles southeast of here the body being discovered in the barn by the wife, Gladys Nesbitt and a 16-year-old daughter, Marian.

Mr. Nesbitt explained his act in a note which he left on the kitchen table.  Financial difficulties were given as the cause. Mr. Nesbitt was born at Georgetown, Illinois the son of Robert C. and Elnora Nesbitt. Surviving besides the widow and daughter, marian are the father, Robert C. Nesbitt of New Richmond; a sister, Estelle Nesbitt of Madison, Ind; two brothers, Herman and Clause of New Richmond and a stepson Dean Wemken.

Private funeral services will be held at the family home at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. George Kirkpatrick of Frankfort officiating. Burial will be made at WHitehall, Ill Friday. Friends may pay their respects at the residence before or after the services. The body was taken to the undertaking establishment of Crumley & Sons in Covington but before being moved from the home it was examined by Coroner Clifford Crumley of Fountain County.  - kz
