Hank Newkirk died at his home about two miles east of here (Vinegary Hill), Friday afternoon at one o'clock of Bright's disease and heart trouble. He was about 65 years of age. He was buried Sunday at Harshbarger Cemetery.

Hawk (sic) Newkirk, age 50 years, a pioneer of Montgomery County, died Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home three miles east of Whitesville. His death was due to dropsy. - both transcribed by kbz
