Mrs. William Newlin, aged 59, died at the family home in Smartsburg at 8:45 Monday night after a brief illness with pneumonia. She was taken sick but a few days ago but the disease was of a malignant type and she grew gradually worse until the end came.  Mrs. Newlin was formerly Jemima Moore. She was a sister of Sherman moore of this city, Milton of the Smartsburg neighborhood and Asa of Illinois.  Mrs. Belle Anderson of Grant City, Mo and Mrs. Ida Lane of Lima, Ohio are sisters of the deceased. Besides her husband, Mrs. Newlin is survived by seven children. They are: William, Frank, Myrtle Gobles, wife of James Gobles, Fred, Clarence, Olive wife of Fred York of tis city and Alva.  Mrs. Newlin has lived practically all her life in the neighborhood of this city and was well and favorably known to a large circle of friends. The funeral will be conducted at the church at Smartsburg Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. The burial will be in the Masonic cemetery in this city. - kbz
