Monticello - Bruce Nichols, 84, of 526 W. Jefferson, a farmer in the Buffalo community for many years, died Saturday morning at six o'clock at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient there two weeks. Born in Ladoga, Aug. 14, 1877, he was the son of Norman B. and Sarah Thompson Nichols. He came to White county 72 years ago when his family moved near Chalmers. His marriage in 1908 was to Margaret Floyd. He was a member of the Sitka Baptist church. For the past five years he had lived in this city. Survivors are his wife; four daughters: Mrs. Bessie Sheen, Mrs. Stanley Conwell, Monticello; Mrs. Howard Ezra, Highland, Ind.; Mrs. William Ettinger, Piqua, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Miller funeral home after four o'clock this evening. Rites will be there at two o'clock Monday with the Reverend William Heimbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
