Donald Winton Nicholson, 51, a former proof reader for RR Donnelley's Company, died Friday at the Liter Nursing Home. In failing health for 3 1/2 years, he died of complications. The family resided at the corner of E. Main Street and Vernon Court. Born on Feb 3, 1904 in FItzgerald, GA he was the son of John B and Anna Roach Nicholson. On August 6, 1923, he married Carol Krause. He was a member of the Milligan Memorial Church. He served 2 years in the US Navy. Survivors include the wife: two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Layne of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Marilyn Brown of San Diego, Calif; one son, Randolph of Santa Barbara, Calif; the mother of Ladoga; one sister, Mrs. Geraldine Ridlen of Crawfordsvile; two brothers, Robert of Ladoga and Frank of Crawfordsville and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home with Rev O.J. McMullen officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
