COVINGTON — Lulu Ann Nicklas, 83, of Covington, died Friday at the Covington Manor Nursing Home. A resident of Fountain County most of her life, she resided in the Osborne Prairie neighborhood until 1964 when she moved to Covington. She attended Covington High School and was graduated in 1915. She was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute. She taught school for several years in the Bend School which was located west of Covington. She was a member of the Osborne Prairie Church and Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school at the church for many years. She was born June 22, 1886, in Parke County, a daughter of Herschel and Rhoda Wilson Thomas. She was married April 20, 1921, to Edward Fred Nicklas in Sterling. He preceded her in death April 15, 1974. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. James Daniel and the Rev. Robert Karn officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.   --typed by Walt W
