Freeman R. Nixon, 52, World War veteran and former employee of the power plant at Purdue died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the US Veterans Hospital, Marion. Born in Crawfordsville, he married Goldie Weaver in 1922 and is survived by the widow; his mother and step father Mr. and Mrs. Charles Laurimore, Elston; a sister, Mrs. Albert Kraull, Danville, Ill and a step brother, Von Laurimore, Chicago. Friends may call at the Soller-Baker Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. Services from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Doyle Mullen officiating; burial in Soldiers’ Home cemetery. – kbz
