VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Anna Nixon, 72, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at her home here. She had been in failing health since January. She was born May 12, 1892, at Mitchell to Elmer and Margaret Peebler Helmick. They moved here when she was a child. She married Donald Nixon Feb. 9, 1914. Mrs. Nixon is survived by her husband; a son, Lewis of here; three daughters, Mrs. Howard Robert and Mrs. Bert Hershberger of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Roland Cushman of Russellville; a brother, Phillip Helmick of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Church at Veedersburg. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home here. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. J. Samuel Pritchard officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

VEEDERSBURG — Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Nixon, age 72, who died 9:30 a.m. Sun., June 14, at her home on Veedersburg Rt. 1, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fishero Funeral Home here. The Rev. J. Samuel Pritchard, pastor of the Veedersburg EUB Church officiated and burial was in Rockfield Cemetery, southeast of here. Mrs. Nixon had been ill with a heart condition since January. She was born May 12, 1892 in Mitchell, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret Pevler Helmick. She moved to Veedersburg with her parents as a child. She was married Feb. 9, 1914 to Donald Nixon, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are; one son, Lewis Nixon of Veedersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Louise) Roberts and Mrs. Bert (Clara) Hershberger, both of Danvillle, Ill., and Mrs. Roland (Mary) Cushman of Russellville; one brother, Phillip Helmick of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.   --typed by Walt W
