Esther Mary Nixon, 79, formerly of Kingman, Covington and Veedersburg, died 6:25 p.m. Tuesday in The Waters at Covington, where she had resided one year.
Mrs. Nixon was a homemaker and attended Covington schools.
She was born Dec. 21, 1923, east of Covington, to Edwin S. and Mossie Kilby Stambaugh. She married Charles Everett Nixon on June 20, 1958. He died Dec. 3, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Edwin and Wayne Allen, both of Kingman.
An infant son and two brothers are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Friday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. William Lehman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
