Alice M. Norman, 90, New Market, died 9:18 p.m. Saturday in Lane House Nursing Home. Mrs. Norman was a switchboard operator at the New Market Phone Company and a clerk at Murphy’s department store. Her memberships included New Market Christian Church, 50 Plus Club, Night Owls Club and a charter member of the Double Duzzen Club. She was a 1933 graduate of Tangiers High School. She was born Jan. 15, 1915, at Parke County, to John R. and Essle M. Jackson Trusler. She married Morris Norman Dec. 16, 1933, at Tangiers. He died in 1983. Surviving are son Dean (Betty) Norman, New Market; daughter-in-law Virginia Norman, New Market; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. Son Dale Norman, two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter and a grandson are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Market Christian Church, 302 S. Third St., New Market, with the Rev. George Dosher officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends ma call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, New Market.
